Lulu, Frida and I took a walk along the lower Colorado River, below the dam at Pleasant Valley Road. We took a trail less traveled that followed the sandy, south river banks headed downstream from the dam. We parked just off Pleasant Valley Road at the dam where there is a tunnel under Pleasant Valley Road that connects to the 10 mile Hike and Bike path. From there, we followed the trail down to the river where Frida could run in the sand. She loves sandy soil which is evident in the attached video. I took several pictures of along the trail, which took us just under an hour. It was a lovely, cool mid morning hike January 29, 2021. There is much to discover in the many acres that comprise Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Park and there is a wonderful Disc Golf Course and many bike trails to explore. They have a wonderful Playground area for toddlers and there are many entrances to the park either on the west end off Pleasant Valley Road where Krieg Fields Complex is located. It is also accessible from the east side off Montopolis or south off of Riverside Dr. by way of Grove Blvd.
